Asteatotic or wintertime dry exzema
This
kind of
Exzema usually occurs in cold weather and is caused by a
reduction of natural oils in the body. During winters, when the humidity is low,
and people tend to sit too close to the heater or radiator, the skin begins to
dry and crack. Asteatotic
Exzema (see exzema
pictures) is very often seen in old people who tend to develop
dry skin as they age. Asteatotic
exzema usually affects the lower legs, arms and hands and is
sometimes seen in the abdomen area as well. The shins are particularly
susceptible to asteatotic
exzema. Regular greasing of the skin with a good quality cream
or oil goes a long way in prevention and treatment
of asteatotic exzema.
